Fight Face

So Lately some friends of mine have posted some of their trouble will bullies at playgrounds/playgroups. I too have has some issues with this. I take Caleb to Soccer Tots every Wednesday. It is a crazy gathering of 3-4 year old's who attempt to learn soccer skills with out killing each other. There are a ton of Wealthy "North Shore Mom's" who pay no attention to their kids, and chat with each other the whole time. Well there is this one kid (Who will remain un-named) who is just plain spoiled, bratty and a bully. He says mean comments to all the kids, pushes and punches, and steals other people's soccer balls. One time he was trying to hit Caleb's ball out of his hands down in the net. He punched Caleb in the tummy. I have had it at this point. I rush over with Jacob in my arms. "HEY, leave him alone get your own ball and keep your hands to yourself!" He looked at me in shock as if no one has ever told him no, or corrected his behavior. He glared at me as if he wanted to challenge me. I glared back. His mom sat with her coffee in had chatting, oblivious to his behaviour. It ticks me off. I can't explain it its like this heat boils up in me when someone is seeking to harm one of these kiddos'. I can't imagine how I will be with my own kids. He steered clear of my glaring looks and Caleb the rest of the day. We have soccer tots again today and let's just say I've got my fight face ready!

Where the Incident happened....in the net.

There's just something about little boys....

So my whole life I have wanted a little girl. I still do. I love little girls. You can dress them up all cute, they love all things pink. You know sugar and spice and everything nice. But now I can honestly say I would love to have a little boy. A little Truck lovin, mess makin, trouble startin, little boy.

Since working with my family I nanny for I have fallen in love with a little boy. I love Kennedy and believe me we have tons of dress up, nail painting, doll holding, twirling, pink times. But there is just something about little boys. Caleb and I have 1/2 of the day together alone now that Kennedy is in Kindergarten and we thoroughly enjoy our time. He is so sweet. One of my favorite parts of the day is when he wakes up from nap and wants to sit on my lap while he wakes up. "Manna I want to sit on your lap" he says. His little feet always cross and he sits there nice and content and let's me kiss his head as many times as I want!

So I just realized on my profile my industry said Accounting.
PAH!!! So far from the truth. I know I know....you were marveling at my math skills and hoping you could come to me for some advice. Well I was living a lie my friends. I am no where close to being an Accountant! I can't even add up prices at the grocery store with out a calculator. (I have other gifts just not Math.)
SO I changed it...to Nanny....but really I could say:

Laundry Mat worker
Wife

I have come to appreciate stay at home moms even more.

It's going to be one of those days.....

Ever wake up and wonder why you are in a weird mood right from the start?
Today was one of those days. First I slept late by mistake...woke up at 7:25 (have to leave at 7:30). I was dead tired and could hardly see....and I got in the car to make my drive just in a rotten mood. I usually use my drive to work as a prayer/worship time....because anyone who has children or works with children knows once the day starts....you have very few and far minutes in between the chasing around, laughing, pooping of the pants, and other childlike chaos. Well I had my ipod on shuffle and was not in the mood to worship or pray at all. In fact it has been hard to get time with God lately. Let my rephrase that. I haven't made time for God lately. Anyway this Sara Groves song came on...and it was kind of like a wake up call from God to me.(Don't you love when he does that)

How is it between us - Sara Groves

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed,
the wrong side of the room,
the wrong side of the world.

Can't put my finger on the mood.
It's not melancholy, anger or the blues.

I love my husband, my house, my job.
Couldn't be any better,
and really what else is there?

Then I realize I'm forgetting God,
and that's the root of all my misery.
Lord, first of all, how is it between you and me?

Chorus: How is it between us?
How is it between us?
When did I talk to you last,
and what has happened since?
How is it between us? How is it between us?
When did I talk to you last, and what has happened?
.
When I wake up I am on my way,
reinventing the wheel and saving the day.

I have learned this lesson a thousand times,
I am the branch, and you are the vine.

Apart from you we are mice and men,
with our fancy dreams of grandeur and no way to get there.

Oh I can think about you now and then,
or I can make a mark on eternity.

Lord first of all, how is it, between you and me?
How is it between us?
How is it between us?
When did I talk to you last,
and what has happened since?
How is it between us? How is it between us?
When did I talk to you last, and what has happened?

So let the wicked prosper, let the oceans roar,
let the mountains crumble, and fall into the sea.
There's something more important weighing on my mind.
Lord first of all, how is it between you and me?

Needless to say the next song didn't come on for a while and it was silent in the car....weird. Let's just say God made it impossible for me not to talk to Him. It was a good time. Can I just say having this job has given me an immense respect for mom's every where. You do more than "Just stay at home." (My friend Greta had a post about this recently)You are superhero's! And I respect you when you choose to spend time with the Lord during their nap instead of crashing yourself because you are soooo pooped. You really have to purpose to make that a priority or it just won't happen naturally. So thanks mom's across the world for all you do, for shaping young minds, for cleaning up...well everything, and for doing the most important job on earth. I feel very fortunate to have a job that is preparing me to be a mom. I think it will be a breeze to start out with a newborn compared to starting out with a 2yr & 5 yr old. And hopefully they will come one at a time :)

On another note, still no word on my mom. She has been in the hospital 3 times in the last month. This time we are hoping to have some answers. Keep praying for her. She is a very talented writer and I set her up a blog when I was in Canada last week. She would love the support and encouragement if you went and read her stuff! Her Blog is Spiritual Caffeine. Thanks for the prayers.
